The sleek, black ceramic of the bezel and the carbon fiber dial endow the piece with a high-tech elegance that is also suited to all classy outings and dress codes.

The stainless steel case is PVD coated and the bezel, as the name suggests, is made of black ceramic. Ceramic is light and very scratch resistant. It is 50mm in diameter and is equipped with a cap that screws into the left side as always with U-Boat watches of the case and protects an already very sturdy crown. As if the sheer size of the case was not enough, this inconspicuous crown cover adds to the undeniable heft of the watch case, but its position on the left makes the Flight Deck chrono surprisingly comfortable.

About U-Boat watches: In the year 1942, the Fontana workshop was poised to produce a professional timepiece for the distinguished officers of the Italian Navy's submarines (also known as U-boats). Though the project was ultimately scrapped, the distinctive drawings, color samples, and original materials were lovingly preserved for more than sixty years. In 2000, Italo Fontana, a cousin of the workshop's late founder, realized a longtime company dream with the launch of the modern U-Boat brand.
